The rule is not new and yet has not aged a bit:wide at the bottom, adjusted at the top, and vice versa. Nobody will prevent you from opting for the total adjusted look, if you assume it. On the other hand, unless you have mastered volumes at your fingertips, it is better to avoid the wide total look, which rarely benefits! Be careful, a small fitted top does not necessarily mean tight:it can be a soft T-shirt that draws shapes without tightening, for example.
What little top to wear with black pants? Or white? And with raw or faded denim? Whatever the color of the pants, choose your camp between tone on tone and contrasting:you will greatly reduce the range of choices! Some ideas for classic pairings, at work or on weekends? With black, red, yellow or white pants to contrast; grey, duck blue or purple in tone on tone. With white pants, try red, blue or green to contrast... or the whole range of tone-on-tone pastels! As for finding the right color for a crop top for colored pants? Draw from the chromatic circle, where each shade has its complementary:blue and yellow, purple and orange, red and green... Mix three colors ideally, five at most.
Slim pants or cigarettes, have fun with little wide tops! A folk tunic with multicolored embroidery with faded jeans, a romantic blouse with lace inserts with raw skinny jeans... or why not the timeless white shirt with cigarette pants, 50s style? As for playing comfort on any occasion, tuck the front of your favorite T-shirt into the belt, accessorize with a big necklace and comfortable sneakers, you're ready.
Do you love mom jeans? The big comeback of the straight pants is delighting more than one, and the little top is doing it happily. Only one condition, tuck in or tie the wide tops, to compensate for the volume! Vintage t-shirt or men's shirt? Tie them at the waist, roll up the bottom of classic jeans and pair them with ballet flats. Straight chino pants? Wear it on the hips with a cropped top or fitted top, bustier version or corset in the evening.
Do you prefer flared pants, flares, bootcuts and other elongated leg magicians? This hybrid marries a narrow waist with flared legs. In a small top, so it's up to you to choose adjusted or blurry, as long as it's back! And if the tucked-in top makes you uncomfortable, simply slip the front hem into the waistband, to emphasize the high waist without revealing anything. Flare favourites? T-shirts with messages, small light sweaters or feminine blouses... unless you opt for total denim in shirt and flared jeans!
The principle does not change, and wide pants, generally high waisted, prefer small fitted tops. If you choose a shirt, prefer it fitted, thin and tucked into the pants. Rather t-shirt? Opt for a close-fitting model, fluid and feminine materials... or even a bodysuit, like with wide overalls!
