A discussion started via the TikTok platform about how often bras should really be washed. A British TikTokker discovered that her friend only puts her bras in the machine once a year and then asked her followers the same question “how often did you wash your bra?”. Women from all over the world responded with some washing their bras after every wear and others confessing to only doing it monthly. Marie Jo answers the question.
Check specific washing instructions in the label. Fasten all hooks and closures and put your lingerie or bath linen separately in a sealable laundry bag.
Fill the drum to a maximum of 1/3, preferably with other fine items of the same color. Choose a delicate wash program at 30°C, with a low speed (max. 600 rpm). Use a small amount of mild liquid detergent for delicate laundry and do not add bleach or fabric softener.
Do not put your items in the dryer, but let them air dry on a drying rack (preferably indoors or in the shade, not in full sun). Separate the cups of your padded bras so that they dry without dents or creases.
When your items are completely dry, it is important to store them properly. Slide the cups of your bras and bath towels together and store them in a row so that they keep their shape in your drawer.
Do not wear new bath towels in the sauna or jacuzzi and rinse immediately in clear water after use. It is recommended to wash lingerie after 2 or 3 wears. Do not wring your items, never place your items on a heat source and do not iron them.
Avoid contact with high concentrations of chlorine and sunscreen.
