Couturier Mart Visser has been dressing Dutch women for 25 years. This year, the fashion designer is already presenting his 50th Haute Couture collection. This is a good reason to open a temporary museum with a concept store in Amsterdam. With the exhibition 'Beyond Context', Mart Visser shows the ultimate synergy between his three disciplines:Haute Couture, prêt-à-porter and Artwork. The exhibition can be visited from October 17 to November 19, 2017 in 'The Artesia', which will be transformed into a temporary museum.
For the exhibition, iconic pieces, hats and objects from his archive are interspersed with designs from the winter 2017-2018 couture collection. In addition, a selection of show successes and red carpet dresses from Known Netherlands will be presented. The exhibition also shows an impressive overview of 8 years of Artwork with paintings, sculptures and installations. The temporary museum also houses Mart Visser's first concept store with the most recent ready-to-wear collection. Here, the visitor has the exclusive opportunity to view and try on the collection. A team of stylists is available for personal advice.
