Another wrinkle filler has been withdrawn from the market for the time being, because it can lead to swelling and hardening in the treated area.
The filler in question is called Hyacorp, the stuff is injected with a needle. Hyacorp has been used for a year now. About 1500 people have been treated with this filler, which improves the contours of the face.
Patients who have been treated with it receive a call for an appointment for a check-up. If you have been treated, but have not received a message after 15 November, you can contact us yourself.
Complaints
There have been 25 complaints received so far. That is reasonably in proportion with other products, according to the manufacturer Dalton Medicare. They want to err on the side of caution.
According to the Product and Registration Committee of the Dutch Association for Cosmetic Medicine, this is not correct. Chairman Peter Termohlen:'Complications normally occur in 0 to 0.5 percent of patients. 25 complaints per 1500 treatments is a lot more in percentage.'
