Each year, the magazine Elle publishes the ranking of the best dressed, the most chic and the most distinguished women in the media as the end of the year festivities approach. Divided into several categories, the ranking has a "style and politics" section. This year, Michelle Obama won the title of the most chic woman in this category, ahead of Carla Bruni Sarkozy, who topped a similar ranking for Vanity Fair .
The president of the jury for this year, Nathalie Rykiel, explains this choice by defining Michelle Obama as a woman who "is unlike anyone ". And to add:"She encourages young designers. She dares, she takes risks ". And the jury to explain the second place of the French first lady by regretting her "lack of imagination and audacity ".
