Sure ! If you are used to going to a salon, you ask your hairdresser what reference he uses (the numbers found on the colo boxes, for example 7.5 for a medium golden blonde). If he is not cooperative and you don't want to wait, the best thing is to take a formula (tone on tone or permanent) one tone lighter than what you see:thus, you blur the roots without darken the color. Fan of the house camp? Apply the same reference as usual, only on the roots, and emulsify with a little water, 5 minutes before the end, to avoid creating demarcations.
The big difference with classic care products is that those for colored hair do not contain sulphates (=surfactants, molecules that help to lather, but also wash out the color). Instead, there are other milder surfactants, and especially agents with an acid pH that close the scales to prevent the loss of pigments. "By using these treatments, the intensity and hold of the color is extended by at least 15 days", explains the colorist Romain. If you go to the beach or to the swimming pool, use styling products containing oil, ceramides or silicones, in order to protect the hair against humidity (which has an oxidizing action).
The problem is, hair color is subjective, and women tend to see it a tone darker than it is. The boxes show the result on at least 3 hair colors (more or less dark):if you are blonde and you see yourself as light brown, you will rely on the rendering of the color on brown hair. The result will necessarily be different, so you may be disappointed.
