It's the same thing ? The answer is obviously no, otherwise there would not be two products. The deodorant fights against bad odors due to perspiration. Only perspiration is odorless:it is in contact with the bacteria present on the surface of the armpits that it creates a "perfume". The formulas of the deodorants therefore contain anti-bacterial agents to prevent the proliferation of these bacteria + a perfume (more or less powerful depending on the brand). The antiperspirant, on the other hand, contains active ingredients that tighten pores and reduce the flow of perspiration, without blocking it (sweating is necessary to regulate body temperature) + agents that absorb moisture. The formula can also be perfumed (but it is generally less powerful than in a deodorant) and contain anti-bacterial agents.
How do I choose? If you sweat little, are not bothered by humidity or are just trying to mask the smell of sweat, deodorant is recommended. On the other hand, if you cannot stand the humidity or play sports, it is better to use an antiperspirant. Good to know:if you make a fix on the halos or wear clothes made of "sensitive" material that marks, there are patches to stick on the garment, at the level of the armpit. It has no impact on perspiration, but it avoids halos, stains and possible risks of irritation (we recommend those from Narta, which exist in black and white, for €4.50).
