The latest exhibition from Cube design museum 'Heaven or Hell?' highlights the needs that shoes can fulfill and how shoe designers respond to this in more than 100 pairs of remarkable footwear. Iconic pieces from today, from the recent past and new innovations for the shoes of the future can be seen in 'Heaven or Hell?'. Stilettos, ballerinas, wedges, sneakers, flip flops:are they heavenly or hell? The exhibition can be visited in Cube design museum from January 28 to September 2, 2018.
More than 100 pairs of special shoes have been selected for the exhibition; from shoes worn or made known by celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Brigitte Bardot, Lady Gaga, Sarah Jessica Parker in her role as Carrie Bradshaw and Naomi Campbell to designs by a dozen Dutch designers, such as the Magnetic Shoe by Jólan van der Wiel for Iris van Herpen and iconic pieces by well-known international designers, such as Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, Beth Levine, Vivienne Westwood and Salvatore Ferragamo. Many of these shoes are challenging to move on.
