Are you a dress maniac? I don't wear them very much in the winter, but in the summer all the more. The reason I don't wear them so much in the winter is that I'm a huge chill . Better jeans with a thick sweater than an elegant dress. But for the holidays and some outings I make an exception. Recently I was looking for a nice new dress on request and I was pleasantly surprised by the party collection from SRNDPTY.

SRNDPTY is a Dutch brand, which is not only designed in the Netherlands, but also produced. In family workshops that enable fair and responsible production. The emphasis at SRNDPTY is on dresses, but they also have pants, blouses and beautiful blazers. Anyway, my eye fell on a beautiful lace dress for the holidays. Chic, feminine, yet smooth. That was the idea behind it. I think I can look great on Christmas Day with a beautiful lace dress.
However, when adjusting the dress, Daughter and Man were very clear in their pronunciation. “What are you wearing?” Lotte shouted loudly across the room. Frank also poked his nose around the corner. "Well, a new dress," I said, somewhat bewildered. I asked again. Madam lifted her nose and shouted 'I don't like it at all!'.
Where has my sweet girl gone who, at the age of four, couldn't get enough of pretty dresses and skirts? She would have loved this dress from the SRNDPTY party collection! But now that sweet girl has turned into a tough eight-year-old chick who only has jeans on her ass and wears trendy shirts or sweaters. Moreover, she does not mince her mouth.
“Why don't you like it?” I asked cautiously. "Well," she said... "it's way too pretty for you." Uhhh, okay. So I can deal with that. Apparently she doesn't like nice, chic dresses. Somehow I understand her, because she doesn't get her clothing taste from a stranger of course. I also like jeans, cool shirts and nice sweaters. Especially when it's cold. And when I wear a dress, it's those sweat dresses. With tights and dark shoes underneath, for example. But I can certainly appreciate some more chic clothing. I have two other beautiful dresses hanging in the closet. A neat dress. Admittedly, I really only wear that at funerals. And a long dress with a sexy twist and glitter, the dress I normally wear for the holidays, but which could be replaced by now.
What do you do when you have a nice new piece of clothing, like I do now from SRNDPTY, and you get comments from those around you? I am not that sensitive to that in itself, I must say and I therefore give an educationally responsible answer to my daughter. "I don't care if you think it's too beautiful for me." "I'm going to wear it anyway." The tongue that sticks out of my mouth adds some extra force to my words.
