Now a gift with the May issue of Santé:Spalife!
The mood board is at the origin of every new magazine. Without a mood board no emotion and therefore no starting point. We had three of those cut-and-paste boards:one about travel, one about food, and one devoted to personal care. In such cases, the image should speak for itself, but just to be sure we had put some yellow stickers on it. It read:"Don't be expensive, but be happy."
But what is happiness? “Happiness is something simple and pure. A glass of wine, chestnuts, a simple brazier and the sound of breaking waves,” the Greek writer/poet Kazantzakis wrote almost a hundred years ago. And of course it is. The same goes for the people who made Spalife. Their moment of bliss is about very different things, ranging from drinking a rose with your best friend to staring at the horizon for hours. No one mentioned anything that had to do with doing expensive.
While the making of Spalife didn't always consist of such moments of total bliss we, the makers, have become happy after all. We hope that this feeling can be seen and felt on the pages that are now in front of you. Because to quote Kazantzakis:“You have your brush. You have your colors. You paint paradise. Then in you go.”
