The vagina has a new name:Poenie. That has been chosen by the listeners of De Wild in de Afternoon (KRO-NCRV) as the new word for the female genitals. Poenie was the most popular word with 34.5% of the votes. Last Monday, De Wild went in the afternoon together with Rutgers, the sexuality knowledge center and Sofie van den Enk, in search of a common word for the female genitalia.
The listeners could choose from tummy, vagina, flamoes, poenie and yoni. In Sweden they are already ahead of us. There, the Swedish version of Rutgers invented a new word 15 years ago that everyone now uses:snippa.
The poenie is not a new word by the way, but that's what our female genitals are called in Suriname!
