Waxing is ideal. The longer you keep it up, the thinner the hairs get and the longer they stay away. Keep the following things in mind.
1. Let the hair grow to about half a centimeter
In order to wax the hairs properly, they should be about half an inch long. This way the wax takes hold better and it is less painful. If the hairs are much longer than half a centimeter, cut or trim them slightly shorter in advance.
2. You can take a paracetamol beforehand
Take paracetamol half an hour in advance. That's a good idea, especially if you don't have such a high pain threshold.
3. Do not get waxed when you have your period
During your period and the three days before, waxing feels extra painful.
4. You can freshen up on the spot
When you lie with your legs spread or with your armpits under the nose of the beautician, you probably feel more comfortable when you feel fresh. Don't have time to freshen up just in advance? You still get the opportunity to do that at a wax salon.
5. Exfoliate your skin two or three days in advance
Remove dead skin cells for better wax pick-up and to reduce the risk of ingrown hairs. The day before the treatment you should no longer exfoliate, that makes your skin too sensitive.
6. Do not use body lotion before waxing
The greasy layer ensures that the wax picks up less well.
7. Don't feel insecure
When you get your bikini line or a larger area waxed, the moment comes when you have to take your underwear off. That can feel quite uncomfortable, but remember that it's her job for the waxing person.
8. The more often you wax, the longer the hairs stay away
After the first waxing, some people are disappointed with how short the hair stays away. The persistence wins:if you continue to wax regularly, the hairs will grow back slower and thinner.
